Class Name: Flipped Classroom
Class Description:

“Students need their teachers present to answer questions or to provide help if
they get stuck on an assignment; they don’t need their teachers present to listen
to a lecture or review content.” Scary thought? This was the vision of two teachers
in 2007. Here’s a simplification: “Homework at school, school work at home” This is
the foundation of The Flipped Classroom. During the first two hours of this course
this model will be introduced to participants and the mechanics of the Flipped
Classroom will be identified. There will be time in this session to explore
resources and choose what tools and strategy fits you best. Note: The Flipped
Classroom has several definitions. This session will focus on the practices of
Jonathan Bergman and Aaron Sams.

Classes are free for districts with PD contracts. Contact your tech coordinator or
treasurer if you are unsure whether your district has a contract. Otherwise, a 3
hour class costs $50, a 2 hour class costs $35. A graduate credit through Ashland
University costs $200.
