Class Name: POSTPONED Assistive Technologies BOOTCAMP
Class Description:

This event will be rescheduled for a later date (TBA)
Come for the day to take a deep dive and learn about assistive technology
tools that can help students read text easier on a computer screen, talk to
type, record voice notes and more. We will explore several frameworks to
help educators decide what technologies to use with students.

WATI (Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative) to name a couple]

The foundation of this course will be based on the book "The New
Assistive Tech: Make Learning Awesome for All!" by Christopher R. Bugaj

The technology focus will be on Google Suite add-ons and extensions. A
small portion of time will be spent on specific Chromebook accessibility
features. If you have access to a Chromebook please bring it with you.

Classes are free for districts with PD contracts. Contact your tech
coordinator or treasurer if you are unsure whether your district has a
contract. The fee for this Bootcamp is $100 for 6 hours of training. Time
earned can be applied toward CEU's or graduate credit through Ashland
University upon completing 15 seat hours. The AU fee is $200 for all
participants pursuing graduate credit.
